December 16th: The Emerson
Going Away/ Fundraiser Party- Send JP To Brazil!
My friend and favorite DJ Rob The Rich has secured a spot at my favorite new spot here in Clinton Hill. Im using this as an opportunity to get all of my close and somehow estranged friends together for a drink and a dance to raise a few dollars to cover study costs for my fellowship in Bahia, Brazil. I'll be there at the Sacatar Foundation for all of January and February with my own studio and tons of amazing instruments. Its an unbelievable opportunity but does not include a stipend. So, im kicking off a fundraising campaign to earn money to study brazilian percussion, folk song, and event organization. If you haven't checked out this place, The Emerson, this would be a great opportunity. Its a beautiful bar with great variety of beer taps, knowledgeable bartenders, and a large bar pool table that is in EXCELLENT condition.
This not a formal fundraiser as this place does not allow exclusive parties or events with a cover (which is cool). But there will be much music and I will come up with some great surprises and performances for all who come out to send me off to All donations (no matter how small) are appreciated and tax deductible. Mark your calendars!
